The Lab
The heritage of Howe Ceramics extends back to 1964 when Kenneth Howe established the formerly named KD Laboratories. During this time, Kenneth gained an impressive reputation as one of the country’s best chrome technicians.
Chris followed in his father’s footsteps and qualified as a Dental Technician in 1978, with a City and Guilds qualification from the London Institute. Before joining his father’s laboratory, Chris developed his technical skills, first at a commercial lab and then at Guy’s Hospital in London to set up the crown and bridge department.
After Kenneth’s retirement in 2001, KD Howe Laboratories became Chris Howe Ceramics, specialising in crowns, bridges and implants. Today Howe Ceramics is run by father and son team, Chris and Jon – keeping the business and the inherited skill of restorative craftsmanship solely within the Howe family.

- Shade Taking (Both at the laboratory or chairside at your surgery)
- Custom finishing
- Support with treatment planning from a technical perspective
Howe Ceramics also offers consultation to both patients and dentists to discuss their requirements, producing diagnostic wax-ups and digital imagery and enabling the patient to visualise the predicted results.
